And this is why I have been quiet the past week - vacation time! :) Spent a week on my favourite island in the North Sea - Sylt. A truly beautiful spot to be, even tho at this time of the year it's a bit of a gamble as far as the weather is concerned. I was lucky, there was some rain but it didn't interfere with my beach strolls. It was VERY windy, tho, and quite cool.

Spring is by far my favourite season. I love the fresh greens, the first blossoms, the mild breeze - but most of all I love baby ducks. So yesterday I went for a stroll in one of our parks, eager to see ducklings. Sadly I only found one duck mom, but at least she had no less than 14 of the cuties.
I only brought my toy camera which wasn't really up for the task of zooming in onto fluffy fast featherballs...

I spent the last two evenings in the pleasant company of Capt. Jack Sparrow, and that helped with the blah-mood I'm in. Today's a grey, overcast and going-to-rain day, but I don't mind as I will spend it in my jammies again doing nothing whatsoever. Except taking photos of the latest work. And editing them. And doing some laundry. And organising my jewellery. And, errm, okay, the doing nothing clearly is not going to happen... :)=)

When I was a kid I liked purple - but each time I wanted a piece of clothing in purple, my mum sang this German song to me with the refrain "Nein, nein, nicht rot, rot steht mir nicht - bitte lila, bitte lila..." It's about the purple-loving Tilla who can't stand red because it doesn't suit her and who even refuses to use a red lifesaver, so she drowns, the crazy gal... Two days ago my doorbell rang - the mailman. That was not an unusual occurance, except that normally I'm not at home to open. What WAS unusual, however, is that 2 minutes later, when I was just about to leave my appartment to go downstairs and fetch my mail, my doorbell rang again. The opening door revealed my mailman, presenting me with two parcels. Not once in the nearly 20 years of my living here did he venture upstairs to bring me my mail, but I guess this time he had no choice, because one of the parcels was way too large to be stuffed into my mailbox. Well, the small parcel contained some beads I had ordered via Etsy, but as for the large one I was completely dumbfounded, I couldn't think who it could be from. I checked twice to see if it really was addressed to me. And then, very slowly (okay, so it wasn't my brightest day, so what?! ;) ) it dawned on me that it might be my Secret Easter Bunny gift from the European Street Team swap. The deadline for that is end of March, so I really didn't expect anything so soon, but there it was, coming from Norway and
totally taking me by surprise. And of course I couldn't possibly wait until Easter to open it, could I? :)=) So I ripped it open, and then a grin so huge it nearly split my head in half happened. My Secret Easter Bunny was Inger from Ingersworld / Ingermaaike, and she sent me this super cute bunny to put a smile on my face and this wonderful, soft and cozy felted scarf with happy colours depicting a rainbow.

I feel totally spoiled - thank you SO much, Inger, you're the best!!
